Chrissy wasn't listening and Jamie knew when enough was enough. She'd said what she had to say and she wasn't in the business of hand holding. She'd left Chrissy with the notion that trying to make sense of the whole situation now is what was hurting everyone. She's barely heard Travis' voice asking if she was okay. There was no words just the shake of her head, no. Pushing some hair off her face she looked downstairs. Actually she should get back to making dinner. Though she didn't make it far when she turned back and wrapped her arms around Travis. It didn't take much to rattle Jamie's cage but when the anger eventually did subside there was a highly intelligent woman underneath. Keeping people at arms length was her way of doing things. The exception to that was Travis.
If she had to do it all over again she would have never let anyone play her like she felt that Bobby had done. Now she had to share space with one of the children who reminded her of the betrayal. It was hard. Jamie picked her hand up putting it on his shoulder and forced a genuine smile on her face. It was hard not to smile when Travis was around. "She'll come around" Jamie was sure of it. Just a question of time. Much like it had taken her time to get over the pain of the past. "I love you" she added genuinely. Her hand ran up to the side of his face into the sideburns of his hair and remained there as she pulled him close. Holding him protectively as she sometimes did when she was the one who felt like she needed to be protected. Backwards but very... Jamie.

If nothing was alright they were in big trouble. At least he was going to be. He wanted the teen to be contented where she was going to be staying, if it was going the other way, then someone had to do something. For him Chrissy was a reminder of the lost years with her father. He turned to look at the girl, who was now curled up in the corner of the room and distant in expression. The sight broke him. He knew what that felt like. And it was the same look Bobby had supported years ago, even today there was degree of it. Travis knew that looking at Chrissy for Jamie held a different reason. He looked at his wife when she spoke, " Since she is more like her father," he managed to smile himself, " she is not going come around any time soon." It had always taken Simon to calm Bobby down and it wasn't like he could call his brother to speak to the girl. With his uncle down there, the last thing he wanted was hell to break loose. Bobby was the banned topic and he knew it was not easy on his aunt. Even calling Bobby here was out of question. He softened his gaze when she spoke those words, " I love you too," and he did. Knowing what she was doing, he held her instead. " Let's see if Aunt Sarah can cox out her own granddaughter." That was without letting the elder Oxford know who she was. Then again, his aunt had a sharp eyes. And Chrissy did look like her father; putting the two and two together shouldn't take his aunt too long. Tag: Jamison "Jamie" Oxford

Jamie too knew what it felt like to just want to curl up in a corner and break. She'd been there before Travis had swept her off of her feet and turned her life around. Hearing his voice she was pulled from whatever thought she was in. Though Jamie didn't want to hear anymore about Bobby this or Bobby that. She forced a smile and resisted the urge to go marching off. Instead, she just carefully kept her gaze from meeting Travis'. The whole seeing into her thoughts thing wasn't going to work. Jamie wanted to drink and just drown things again like she had when she was younger, but she knew Travis would only chastise her for such things.
It was Travis who Jamie loved but that didn't mean Bobby's betrayal was ever forgotten. Jamie had trust issues with people now. Very few she would open up, Travis was one of the few who could even get inside of her head. She was content to just be held while her thoughts whirled away in her head. Lacing her fingers with Travis's fingers she held him close.
When Travis mentioned Sarah talking to Chrissy she just shrugged. Tomorrow was Monday that meant Jamie could easily go lose herself in a mountain of paperwork and let all the emotion go. Seeing Chrissy was like opening up raw wounds of the betrayal all over again. Jamie knew deep down though she came out better after it, she had someone who loved her unconditionally and was there through everything. "What did I ever do to deserve the most amazing husband?" she questioned with a smile. She needed something to smile about and Travis and her boys managed everytime.
