So at least the woman understood her place. Chrissy was among strangers that fact couldn't be denied. She kept quite and listened. Fix it? Fix what exactly? Wanting to get to know her. Getting to know these people wasn't on her to-do list nor her intentions while here, "
You make it sound like I want to know you all," turning she faced the woman whose relation to her parents was a complicated one, "
I said no such thing." Then moved towards the bedside where a box of tissues sat and pulled few out to wipe her juice stained hand. Military didn't take him to NY, the girl had been told everything since the Anderson incident. He went on his own when Winterley had nothing for him for stay for.
Wiping her hands she looked at Jamie when the woman was done, "
You know crap," she told her, "
about what really went on all those years ago. You don't know shit about what he has done for people who at one point were his family. Yes, you heard it right, were." It wasn't her place to tell, but no one talked about her father like he did the stuff cos he felt like it. She didn't know much about her father's life before she was born, but she was going to defend a man she knew today. "
And that old man of his....." Chrissy trailed of with a shake of her head and scoffed.
Balling up the tissue, she dunked it into the bin from where she stood, "
You cared? They cared?" the teen titled her head, "
You all have a funny way of showing it. You know, few years ago we asked Daddy about his family." Her hands jammed intothe pockets of her jeans, "
There was no reaction, nothing. Nessa and I were given a blank expression; he then calmly told us that his parents died when we were 4. Apparently they were on their way to see us. And that he was an only child. We never asked again." There was a reason for all that pain, and the real reason was now dead. It seemed that Galacio's wanting what he did, went so far back. It was only matter of time that Karma caught with him. "
Little did we know that not only they were alive and don't appear to give a hoot but there are more Oxfords around then there are fingers between Nessa and I. If it was bunch of High School drama, why was it not resolved years ago? "
"
No way to contact? I thought members of the military was the most easiest to find. Correct me if I'm wrong. And with the way things were, what exactly were they suppose to look back at? You said it yourself, bunch of stuff was said that now appears to be regretful. And people expected them to stick around a town that did what .....exactly? Insulted them? Made a mockery of them? I don't know....more worse stuff?" She looked away at the knowledge that the woman she had met earlier wanted to see her son, wanted to come despite the dangers Galacio was and had been capable off. She felt the pain for her father, who had recently admitted that the person his missed the most had bee his mother. She couldn't imagine her life without her mother, she could only understand not even a fraction of how her father felt.
Closing her eyes, she had to remember and remind herself that Galacio was dead and couldn't hurt her or her family anymore. It didn't make it easy given he had tried to kill his own granddaughters. Since she was starting to become upset, she wanted her dad.

Travis added more to his story about Nathan/Chrissy in trouble, yet he was careful not to mention who her parents were. At least right now wasn't a good time. Since it had been a while with Jamie going up there, he decided to check on the two females. "Aunt Sarah, you enjoy your coffee and I'll be back in a moment." With that he went to the second story, approaching the room he could hear them talking, but it was Chrissy story that Bobby had told them sliced, even though the door was slightly ajar, he knocked, and peeked his head in, "
Everything okay?" He looked between the two of them. The teen looked visibly upset, and moved his mouth to say something, before he did, he threw a questioning glance at his wife.

Of course he would have asked that, what else could he do? When she punched him, he looked at her mildly amused, "
That I did," he admitted and watched her work. He knew they had dropped the idea to move to Rayton when he had mentioned it. Just so they could work on, what was it again? Fix the unfix-able with the family that wasn't theirs for the sake of their of three children. With a deep sigh, "
We can move after all this is said and over with." He repeated her own words at her, "
If you prefer we move out to Rayton, we will move; you want to stick it out here? We will stay put." If she could support him in that regard, so could it.
He moved out her way as she worked. He knew she was upset, and trying to cheer her up wasn't going to be easy. It wasn't like he could take her away to her favorite place and spend time there. In Winterley they didn't have any places they could go to. When she moved upstairs as the door slammed, he was starting question the decision that was made for all involved. While he wanted a stiff drink, he was going to make do with a coffee. He took a sip or two when his phone beeped, reading the message, he sat the mug down and got to his feet, adjusting his bad knee carefully and made his way to the chair seat lift that had been installed. He hated using it, kinda made him feel stupid about it, but he didn't have a choice. He checked one Nathan visually before making his way to his daughters room. He looked at the upset teen who was hugging her mother, walking over he sat beside her on the bed, "
You wanna tell Daddy what's upsetting you?" he asked her.
